Are You Mad? Revolutionising The Way We Recycle Plastic.

Plastic is one of the most popular and widely used materials in the modern world. Producing it at such a rate has caused immeasurable damage to our planet. It chokes our waterways, pollutes our oceans, kills wildlife, and seeps into our food chain.

Currently, the world only recycles 9% of the plastic we produced - yes, that’s right, 9%. The rest is accumulating in landfills. Reusing commodities such as plastic, paper and glass mean we need fewer virgin materials. And recycling these materials to make new products uses less energy. So through recycling, we can also reduce CO2 and greenhouse gases.

Recycling = win-win.

And now there is a new London-based company focusing exactly on that.

Are You Mad? is a team of problem solvers built on the backbone of creativity, culture and ethics. They understood that the current recycling systems are inadequate and the efficiency rates are abysmal. They have been experimenting with new ways to tackle global issues and figuring out how to implement direct changes into the recycling chain.

Plastic bags, cap peaks, and takeaway boxes are melted into workable sheets to create various objects, including coasters, ashtrays, combs and candle holders.

Next week, to celebrate London Fashion Week, we will be reopening the doors of Tiger’s salon once again, with a pop-up at their Soho store.

Come get your Claws Kits and Claws Refills, meet our founder, and pick up some wonderful l (and recycled) giveaways and enjoy our complimentary nail service.

You’ll be mad not to come…

Tiger’s salon will be open from 12:00 to 18:00 on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th at Are You Mad?, 97 Berwick Street, Soho, London, W1F 0QB.
